Project Life: Full Page Layouts

Journaling cards are pretty expensive, that's why when I found 12x12 sheets sold per piece at Bee Happy Crafts I had to make projects using them. 

There are generic patterns that you can mix up with other papers, but there are also some that really has the full page design that you have to work with.

I am sharing a project I worked on today using a doily as an embelishment.

Also prepared my choice of embelishments. Stickers are my most favorite because the chipboard embelishments are also pricey.

I am also using some stuff from this kit. My first ever scrapbook kit set that I only bought because it was on sale.

My layout. This was from Holiday 2013.

Make sure that the back of the photo is secured from all sides because the layout will cut up the photo.

Planner Addict

Yes, I am a self confessed planner addict when I was in college (I think a lot are at that time). I would buy pretty fillers and mini stickers from Regina's in Greenhills, stick my neo prints in my dividers, write my favorite songs in the pages, stick pretty post-its and use multi-colored pens in writing everything. I poured so much love in my planner at that time, that's why I just change a few pages instead of getting new ones.

Cut to a "few" years later, I find myself in the planner craze again. There are a lot of creative people who use it and decorate it like scrapbooks, and the crafter in me just shined again. I feel lucky that in 2012 my bff Elia gave a planner from their Simalakamma collection, because you won't be able to find nice ones in Manila, even the inside pages are non-existent. So how did this Nanay keep up? I head to National Bookstore and bought some 12x12 scrapbook papers and those plain colored ones and started cutting and punched holes in them the moment I got home. I also got me some sticky notes to liven up the pages. 

I've been getting crafty at work and take 5 minute breaks to shoot my daily planner themes. And here's what I have so far.

Summer Memories

I am very happy to walk into National Bookstore (Shangri-La Plaza branch) with their craft and art supplies in full stock. I saw moms with their kids, buying supplies to make their summer more productive. The summers I remember though was playing outside our house with my cousins, my favorite was piko, luto-lutuan and patintero. I also loved making paperdolls out of cigarette cartons and the dresses out of the palara (we had a sari-sari store then).  But these items would have made my summers brighter for sure!

Baby craft: pacifier holder

Because cleaning pacifiers are a hassle, I decided to make a strap for Leon that can be attached to his diaper :)

And after I finished working on the lion design, it took me an hour to finish cutting for a tiger design!

Future Market

I had a chance to visit 98B's Future Market. This is the third market that they've organized since they moved to their new address in Escolta. It is a feast of finds for all ages. 

 The location of the market used to be Berg Department Store in First United Building.

All throughout the bazaar was a film showing by Keith del Fiero and an art installation by Zeus Bascon that I wasn't able to take a photo of.

Inspiration: Froebel-kan Books

The series of Froebel-kan books is one of my earliest inspirations to do crafts. My favorite story is the Little Match Girl, I have a couple of books from this series left but I'm posting this one first.

This series probably got me into making paper dolls, I kept my dolls in cigarette boxes and made silver dresses out of foil that I get from our sari-sari store.
